Translation of the abstract Production of Economical and Moisture Resistant Volcanic Glass Here we introduces new components to produce a type of glass that is used in many fields. The prepared volcanic glass is an industrial material that is applicable in many fields such as glazing of many materials like pottery tiles and other materials used in: decoration and furniture, various pieces of materials that go into household furniture, and everything related to glass and ceramic industries. It is also used in many industries such as the design, materials that go into architecture, sound insulation material, glass and mirrors, and glass polishing. Additionally, it is used in the manufacture of television tube and piano keys .The material is considered as a basic material in household grills, as it has a high ability to tolerate high temperatures. This product is of an important need for its users due to the increasing demand for it. The material can be used in many applications by employing some neglected materials that have not been utilized before and introduce them in manufacturing of an important glass that can be used in several fields. The product is industrially applicable without any obstacles as it can be produced or used in the architectural, technical, and design fields. The study deals with the production of this type of glass that is used to be imported from outside Iraq to be applied in the aforementioned fields and costs the country a lot of money. Thus, the current study comes to meet the country's need and from components that are locally available in the Iraqi environment at low prices. The manufacture of this type of glass within the current study is considered low in cost as most of its components are available in large quantities. The laboratory experiments have shown that the product is of a high efficiency. The produced material is characterized by being a moisture resistant and with a great endurance to the high temperatures.
