Summary of the Book: The book Title: Language and Arabic Calligraphy / Origins, Evolution, and Aesthetic and Rhetorical Horizons _ authored by Prof. Dr. Safa Lutfi: The Arabic language is considered as one of the most important languages ​​in the world. It is Allah's greatest blessing for mankind that has supreme value in all fields of human life. Moreover, the Arabic language, since its existence, has been the container that hold the ideas of its speakers. Those ideas are almost part of it, as they linked thoughts and action, and by the virtue of our language, the Arab person became an ideal human being for everyone of his kind on this earth. It is good and useful to mention that the Arabic language had reached its peak before the mission of prophet Mohammed (PBUH), in eloquence and literary achievement of poetry and prose. Its Majesty's coronation started when the Holy Qur’an was revealed with it. Allah Almighty chose it as a container for his eternal book, so its status rose and became the dominant language in Arab and Muslim countries. Based on that, it has had a share of spreading with what it has of strength of its statement, sobriety of its words and voices, rhythm of its sentences, and comprehensiveness of its meanings. Thus, it had an important role in spreading the Arab and Islamic civilization. All this encouraged Arab and Muslim calligraphers to make its letters and words abundant for their manuscripts, as it is the language of belief and an eternal message. Additionally, it is a tool of scientific thoughts and a mean by which the brightest eras of the intellectual renaissance and mankind were drawn. This book comes as a cultural imprint that sheds light on the historical references of the Arabic language, the representations of the language and its tools in the Arab and Islamic arts and calligraphy with the aesthetics and intellectual representations that came along with it and cast a shadow on the arena of Arab and Islamic artistic and architectural achievement.
