Abstract An Iraqi research team has come up with a new invention in the field of glass. The team was successful in making glass chalk that was both cost-effective and environmentally beneficial. Prof. Dr. Safa Lutfi explained that the new invention is based on the production of a type of glass chalk that is used in a variety of fields, including drawing on pots and pottery tiles, as well as other materials used in decoration, furniture, architectural materials, glazing pots and vases, and various materials that can be used as parts of home furniture. This new product meets the technical and industrial uses. The invention relates to the manufacture of this sort of chalk, which is suitable for people of all ages and can even be used by school students. The produced material is an environmentally friendly and does not contain any toxic component, besides being produced at a very low cost
