A research team consisting of Prof. Dr. Safa Lutfi, Prof. Loay Abdel Abbas Hussein, and researcher Mohamed Mahdi Hashem obtains a patent for (production of economical glass resin from a mixture of local materials): The new invention is based on the production of a type of glass resin that is used in many fields in furniture, interior design and other materials used in decoration and materials that go into architecture. It is included in the manufacture of many architectural vocabulary and different pieces of materials that go into home furniture and glass resin The product employs local raw materials in the production of a kind of technical and industrial materials. Thus, the new invention achieves great economic feasibility. It is one of the new studies in Iraq, and it can be produced or used in the architectural, artistic and design fields. The invention deals with the production of this type of resin, which makes it available for use simply, in addition to that it provides countless colors of ready-to-use glass resin compared to what is available in the local markets, which is only transparent, and it can be used easily and in a safe situation on the health level. The produced material is an environmentally friendly material and does not contain any toxicity, in addition to that it is produced at very low prices, as most of its materials were prepared from natural materials. Also, the produced glass resin, through laboratory tests, has proven its efficiency.
